National 'B' License DESCRIPTION The National 'B' License Course is designed to introduce concepts that are targeting toward coaching players age 16 to college level. The National 'B' License focuses on recognizing the principles of the game and its technical applications in 11v11 game situations. Candidates will learn to teach and implement these principles through functional training sessions leading up to the 11v11 game. Assist candidates in how to observe and scout a game with the purpose of analyzing the opponent, as well as analyzing one's own team. Assist candidates in how to work with individuals / small groups and be able to put all components together in a game situation.
National Instructional Staff conduct realistic training sessions throughout the course using methodology recognized and used by U.S. Candidates are given opportunities to run two practice coaching sessions and provided feedback from U.S.
National Instructional Staff. Candidates will learn how to properly step in at the right time to make coaching points during training sessions and in 11v11 game situations. Candidates are responsible for reading the FIFA Laws of the Game Booklet and completing the corresponding written examination. Candidates will be given two oral exam questions, one on Tactics and one on Methodology.
A passing grade in both questions must be received in order to pass the course. Post-Course:. Candidates are encouraged to be an ambassador for the game, to treat the game, and those involved with the game with respect and dignity. Recommendations Prior to Attending:. SOCCER COACHING EDUCATION UPDATES GRASSROOTS PATHWAY, F AND E COURSES TRANSITION OUT CHICAGO (Jan. 17, 2018) - Effective today, the U.S. Soccer F and E Coaching License courses will no longer be offered to new candidates as a part of the U.S. Soccer Coaching Pathway. While candidates currently registered for the F or E course have the opportunity to complete the course process, earn the accompanying license and apply the license within the new pathway framework, new candidates will no longer be able to register for these courses. Instead, new Grassroots Course opportunities have been developed and added to the pathway, replacing the existing starting phase of the U.S.
Soccer Coaching Pathway. Coaches who currently hold the U.S.
Soccer E License will be able to proceed directly to the U.S. Soccer D License course (no development period) after completing the cost-free Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module. Those who hold the F License will have the ability to move to the D License course after completing the Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module along with the 11v11 in-person course and one additional in-person grassroots course opportunity, either the 4v4, 7v7 or 9v9.
US Soccer Federation National Coaching Schools: All USSF Coaching Education courses will now be processed through the US Soccer Federation Digital Coaching Center ( ). This includes registration. Any course offered that’s a USSF F, E, D, or C, coaches will simply create/login to their DCC coaching profile, find “Courses” tab and then will be able to find all of the courses in the state they are eligible for at the time. Currently, that will only be the F (even if you already have a higher license.) Planning Tools and Online Resources: When you register for the F, you will get access to the DCC Planning Tools and Online Resources. USSF NATIONAL D LICENSE Target for this course is U13-U15. Or, in the USSF Curriculum, where the full 11v11 starts to be played and real Functional Training where the goal is to get two lines of players in the system to improve. Course Schedule: Friday Evening: 6pm-9:30pm, Sat/Sun: 9am-6pm. TWO WEEKENDS This course is split into several Phases:. Preparation Phase: There are some pre-course assignments that must be completed before the first Friday evening class. So, the earlier you register, the easier it will be to get them all done.
Instructional Phase: During the first weekend the National Coaching School Staff will go over the vast majority of the USSF curriculum. Methodology, philosophy, demonstration of teaching techniques, etc. Deliberate Practice Phase: This is why there is two months between the two weekends. It is time to go away and put into practice the concepts and methods that were discussed during the IW.
You will have some assignments to complete during this time period, so it will be critical that you have access to a team to run a session or two. Performance Phase: The final weekend will be one more 'dress rehearsal' to get final feedback and then the Sunday will be Testing Day. The focus of this level course is on Functional Groups.
