So this is the most recent Haynes manual for the VW Golf, GTI, Jetta, etc. I want something comparable for the GTI w/the TSI motor. I want to learn as much about the car as I can with the goal of doing the 40k, 50k and 60k myself. Besides saving the money, I just want to get down with this car. I know how to do basic automotive upkeep but its all been done on much simpler, NA japanese cars like my old Hondas, Toyotas etc. Only thing Ive done to my GTI so far is Sea Foam, remove passenger door panel & install foam for rattle & reinstall & change air filter. Its got 19500 miles so Ive got some time but I've always had a Chilton or Haynes for all my cars and I want something comparable for the Mk6 TSI.
The 2012 Volkswagen GTI might not make top performance numbers, but overall, it's one of our top picks for a sporty hatchback. On numbers alone, the case for buying a 2012 Volkswagen GTI isn't. I'm baffled as to why one cannot obtain a shop repair manual for the MK6 (Yes, I Googled this. I emailed Bentley and here is their cryptic reply: 'An automotive technical service manual for a 2011 or 2012 VW GTI is not available at this time and we do not have a date for when it will become available.'
