Finally decided it was time to tear into the reason I lost right side drive wheels on my gehl skid loader. They stopped moving about 4 or 5 years ago when I was moving some junk out of the pole barn in the winter time. I remember that it was a pain trying to get the loader back to the shop with only the left wheels driving.
I was afraid it was the hydraulic motor that went out, and after talking with a hydraulic repair shop got sticker shock for fixing it if that was what it was. More than I paid for the loader itself.
So it got pushed to the side for a while. I knew it was going to be a while for me to get it fixed after I tore it down and figured I better wait until I cleaned out the shop to get it inside. Cleaned out the shop last year somewhat, and now I put the loader near the shop and still tore it apart outside. Pain having to cover it up when it rains.

It sure is a pain working on it. I sure would not want to do it for a living, but the mechanics would earn their money for sure.
Finally got the motor out today, and it is the drive gear that is stripped. And could use a bearing too. Will be checking on getting parts tomorrow. Looks like the gear is about $90, but will call a local parts place to price check.

I think I had downloaded the parts manual from them and they showed the parts online with pricing so I figured I would give them my business. They are shipping the gear and gaskets I need, but was out of stock for the bearing I should replace. Going to be out for 90 days.
I would like to get this put back together sooner than that, so trying to source the bearing elsewhere. #s on the bearing 'Peer Romania. 6012 RS' MCMaster Carr wants $125 to $145 for one.
EBay seller came up with 2 for $21. I am cheap, but do I want to go this cheap? This thing isn't the fun to tear apart. The old bearing sounds rough, and probably should be changed while I am fixing it. Anyone else has any suggestions to get bearings from? Sent from my iPhone using. It is the shaft that took out the sprocket, if you don't replace the shaft its not going to last long and you will need another sprocket.
The RS on the bearing is likely referring to what the bearing is sealed/Shields and which sides. Maybe a rubber-seal on one side and a shield on the other. I would agree that the shaft doesn't look the best, so I did check on a replacement shaft. Obsolete part. The motor is also crossed to a new number. Only $1058 to replace it.
